Tell Secretary of State Tre Hargett:

Dear Secretary of State Tre Hargett, I believe the right to vote is fundamental to our democracy — and I’m writing to ask you to protect every Tennessean’s right to be heard in government. It’s very important to me that no eligible citizen in the Volunteer State is disenfranchised by this public health crisis. And, you can take action in time for November’s elections to make sure this happens. As your constituent, I urge you to make sure that all voters can cast their ballot safely this November — by including the rest of the $4 billion that states will need to hold successful elections in the next COVID-19 response package.

We saw widespread issues during the primaries in states like Wisconsin, Georgia, and now Kentucky and New York. It’s clear that the COVID-19 crisis is having a major impact on our democracy — and unless Congress responds, these elections will be a preview of what’s to come in November.

No one should have to choose between risking their health or forfeiting their right to vote. I am calling on you to make sure every state has the resources it needs to protect voters’ rights and their wellbeing during this pandemic.

Please make sure Congress’ next COVID-19 response package includes $3.6 billion for safe, efficient elections. Thank you. We all deserve a say in the future of our families, our communities, and our state — which is why the right to vote is sacred. Thank you for doing whatever you can to protect our vote.
